How to install LED signs on wooden walls?
LED lettering does the trick—it illuminates the decoration, adds character, and looks beautiful in photos. But if you have a wooden or grooved wall , installation can be a challenge. Here are the most common methods we and our clients use at Loventi—simple, safe, and without damaging the decoration.
1. Transparent fishing lines
How it works: Thread the string through the LED sign's mounting holes and tie it to the back of the wall or between the grooves.
Why is it worth it:
- almost invisible,
- does not damage the wall,
- easy to remove after the event.
Tip: Choose a line with a diameter of 0.2–0.3 mm – it is strong enough and still visually delicate.
2. Self-adhesive hooks
How it works: Attach small hooks with mounting tape and attach the LED light to the hooks.
It works well for:
- very light LEDs,
- smooth, painted walls.
Note: Does not work on every surface – it is best to test before installation.
3. Thin floral wire
How it works: You wrap the LED in fishing line or thin wire and tie it to the back or in the grooves.
Why is it worth it?
- almost invisible,
- gentle on the wall,
- flexible – height can be adjusted.
What to avoid?
🚫 Paper or painter's tapes - they will not hold the LED, they will peel off after an hour.
🚫 Installation without preparation and testing - the wires may fall off, which may damage the inscription.
🚫 Hot glues – may damage the LED or destroy the wood surface.
A well-installed LED looks light, shines evenly and does not fall off halfway through the party.
If you do this often, have in your kit: cable ties, fishing line, scissors and small hooks.
